Places to go and things to do to make the most out of your November in Hudson County.

EAT HERE → Mathew’s at 351 Grove Street Jersey City. Opened by the owner of the popular White Star Bar, this new restaurant brings Southern charm to the neighborhood. Described as “approachable, simple, American” with an extensive cocktail menu, this is one to check out.

TAKE A CLASS AT →Hudson Table. Hudson Table is a cooking school that offer classes in Hoboken. Classes range from hands-on cooking to demonstration/seated events. Either option allows you to brush up on your cooking skills so you can wow this holiday season.

HEAD TO → Hoboken Artists’ Studio Tour on Sunday, November 6 from noon to 6pm. This is a free, self-guided walking tour of Artists’ Studios, Galleries and Group Exhibitions, featuring the work of over 100 local artists. You can pick up a map of the studios at Hoboken City Hall (94 Washington St) on the day of the tour.

CHECK OUT → The Kitchen Step. Taking inspiration from a piece of marble gifted to the father of Cornelius Van Vorst, The Kitchen Step offers an inviting, mystical garden atmosphere, with a market-inspired modern American menu created by executive chef Ryan DePersio.

VOLUNTEER AT → the Hoboken Shelter. The Hoboken Shelter provides dinner for the homeless and hungry EVERY night, and they are looking for volunteers. Get into the Thanksgiving spirit by spending a few hours (or more!) at the shelter.

GO ICE SKATING HERE → Newport Skates will open for the season on Saturday, November 19. Newport Skates is an outdoor ice skating rink in Newport at 95 River Drive South. The rink is open 7 days a week; admission is $7 and skate rentals are $6.

DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT → Go on the Hornblower’s Thanksgiving Day Dinner Cruise. The cruise includes a classic Thanksgiving meal as you sail through New York Harbor for three hours of wining, dining and music on Thanksgiving day.
