Places to go and things to do to make the most out of your December in Hudson County.

EAT HERE → Tutta Pesca. This recently opened, fresh fish and seafood market is located at 155 3rd St. in Hoboken. The two-story space features a ground floor fish market and second floor restaurant featuring Italian and American seafood fare.

GO SEE THIS → the Hoboken Christmas Tree Lighting on December 6 at 5pm. The event will take place in front of City Hall and will feature local school children and performers singing carols. Prizes & Giveaways will be available as well as hot chocolate. Santa Claus is also reportedly going to be making a visit!

HEAD TO → Project Market on December 3 & 4 at City Hall in Jersey City. The heated outdoor market located in the Historic Downtown section of Jersey City, NJ will act as a kick-off to the holiday shopping season highlighting local, celebrating seasonal, and encouraging economic growth among small businesses.

GET A CHRISTMAS TREE & PIZZA AT Porta in Jersey City. During the month of December, Porta is holding a special one stop Christmas tree and pizza shopping event. For $40 you get two Margherita pies, a carafe of wine or pitcher of beer and a 2-to-4 feet tall live Christmas tree.

CHECK OUT → Midnight Market Jersey City on December 9 7:30-Midnight at Harborside Atrium in Jersey City. Midnight Market is the area’s first indoor night market. This foodie nightlife experience is a 21+ cash only event.

GET EXCITED FOR → the Return of TEDx to Jersey City. The fourth installment of TEDxJerseyCity, titled ‘Go,” will take place on December 3 at the historic Loew’s Theater from 12pm until 7pm. The event will feature 11 speakers, performances, and a screening of the best of TED talks. Tickets are $20.

GET YOUR SANTACON ON → at Hoboken’s Ho-Ho-Hoboken SantaCon on Saturday, December 17. SantaCon is a chance to dress up as Ol’ Santa Claus and parade the best bars in Hoboken. Santacon is also a great opportunity to spread Christmas cheer. The event is free, but you are encouraged to preregister.

WELCOME THE NEW YEAR → at the Midnight Run in Central Park. Join the fun and celebrate with music and dancing (starting at 10:00 p.m.) as 2016 comes to a close. With a countdown to midnight beginning at 11:59 p.m., the four-mile run will begin on the stroke of midnight, as will a spectacular fireworks display to light up the night and the start of 2017.
