1. 9th & Coles Tavern - 174 Coles St, Jersey City

"When in the Jersey City area this is the place to go! The staff is amazing and the owners spectacular! Great music, great service, great atmosphere, great prices, and great crowd. Are you getting the hint yet? This place is AMAZING!"

Jennifer O., Hoboken, NJ

2. Abbey's Pub & Grill - 409 Monmouth St, Jersey City

"Love this place. It's a dive bar where everyone knows your name. The drinks are cheap, the bartenders have character and you will have a fun time. They have karaoke on Thursday, pool and sports and probably the most interesting crowd you will ever meet."

LaVaughn M., New York, NY

3. The Brightside Tavern - 141 Bright St, Jersey City

"My neighborhood spot and I can say no wrong about it. Tommy puts in the effort to make this place exceptional. From Comedy Night to Monday Night open mic Jazz - he loves to sing and be part of it all. Great place for football, basketball overall a sports destination. Great sound, lots of TVs..And then there's the food. I tried the fried cauliflower tonight, not yet on the menu but I MUST SAY - INCREDIBLE. Texture, flavor. please try it, you will be shocked to like it so much. Great Burgers, even better Loaded Tots. This is a fun place to be, and feels like family around here."

Neelum K., Jersey City, NJ

4. Healy's Tavern - 374 Newark Ave, Jersey City

"No place in JC will make you feel more welcome than Healy's. They will remember your name and your drink. Everybody behind the bar is friendly. Pat, Jerry, John, and Patti are the best! It's like it's own little community. You'll always get to know somebody new. The food is good too! Check it out."

Greg C., Jersey City, NJ

5. PJ Ryan’s - 292 Barrow St, Jersey City

"This place is the best local bar you can go to. My roommates and I moved into Jersey City in August 2015 and noticed that this bar was close to our apartment and decided to try it out. We now have a schedule during our week where we always try to make it here at least one day a week, plus the days whenever we are in the mood to get some beers or play some darts. I may be biased because of my location, but if I had to tell people where to go to get a good drink in Jersey City, I would 100% say to try and make it to PJ Ryan's. The bartenders are always friendly and you can strike up a conversation with pretty much anyone here. Jersey City has many good bars in the area but this is one of the better bars I've been to. You'll want to make this your go-to bar when you come here."

6. Corkscrew Bar - 61 Congress St, Jersey City

"A great neighborhood bar. The staff is always super friendly. The menu isn't extensive, but what they do have is absolutely delicious and affordable. We stop in at least twice a month for a burger or the brunch chicken and waffles."
